Tristram music video
Posted by anikainlondon on November 23, 2009
I have decided to take a STAB (I love that phrase) at animation. Here is a song from Tristram’s forthcoming EP. My video has birds and talking pencils n’stuff:
Hope you like it. I like making stuff, at the detriment of the tidiness of my room.
Oh yeah, and Tristram is playing at the next Allotment show on December 1st with Caitlin Rose. YES!

Comics
Posted by anikainlondon on November 9, 2009
I have decided to take a break from drawing comics in boxes, until January. In the mean time I’d quite like to draw lots of little comics, not in boxes. I like boxes n’all… it’s just way more time consuming. Here are a few non-box comics I drew on the tube yesterday:

Fireworks always remind me of the Stars song Celebration Guns. It’s such a beautiful song, find it if you don’t know it.

Baker Street ham & cheese croissants: £1.85.

It’s true.
These comics are much easier to digest too, I think. I hope you like them………. there’s plenty more where they came from.

Laughing Babies
Posted by anikainlondon on November 8, 2009
I really like drawing laughing babies and then giving the drawings stupidly long titles:
16 Babies Laughing at 16 Babies Laughing at 16 Babies Laughing

Baby Laughing At Riding A Tricyle Over Some Peas

Unspecified Number of Babies Laughing at an Unspecified Number of Babies Laughing at ‘Nuthin” but Really Finding The Word ‘Marzipan’ Funny.

Baby Laughing At Receiving Life Lessons From A Vulture Whilst Receiving Life Lessons From A Vulture

Baby Laughing At Eating A Cake With A Wooden Spoon Whilst Eating Cake With A Wooden Spoon And Watching Three Smaller Babies Laughing About Eating Cake In A Room With A Larger Baby Laughing At Eating Cake With A Wooden Spoon

Whenever people ask me what I’m up to these days I kind of want to just say ‘I draw laughing babies’. But I usually just opt for ‘all sorts…’.

We have a co-promoted show with our friends The Moonshine Jamboree in between now and our December Allotment. This show is on November 24th aboard the Tamesis Dock.

Tamesis Dock is really lovely… and if you haven’t been yet- now is the time! Get your tickets here.

Drawing with a stupid title

Unspecified Number of Babies Laughing at an Unspecified Number of Babies Laughing at ‘Nuthin” but Really Finding The Word ‘Marzipan’ Funny.

I did plan on blogging this evening, but foolishly I decided to draw an A2 drawing of some laughing babies, which took up a couple of hours. I will blog about Allotment tomorrow and reply to anyone who has emailed me’s emails (sorry). Will also be heading to the Peggy Sue show at ICA… looking forward to catching Lulu & The Lampshades and Mechanical Bride too.
The reason the number of babies is unspecified is because it confuses me to count all those babies. You get a lolly if you can count them.

Baby Laughing At Riding A Tricyle Over Some Peas

I have no explanation for this either…
Baby’s favourite song is OBVIOUSLY Ha Ha by Mates of State.

I made a video out of some drawings set to the song rr vs. d by AU. I love that pause in the song before the circus-y mayhem ensues, and I thought it would go well with my very lo-fi video.
